What is voting all about

Universal vote and universal suffrage is one of the basic principles of democracy, which is that it allows discerning adult and every citizen to exercise active and passive right to vote, that is to elect representatives in the legislature, that to be elected as such. In terms of history, is regarded as a system of universal suffrage and the system in which only the male population has benefited from active and passive voting rights (as opposed to systems in which power is exercised on the basis origins, and the aristocracy, on the basis of conviction religious, as in the theocracy, etc.).
French Republic was the first state in the world to introduce universal suffrage to suffrage in 1792 (for men). States that have the long and uninterrupted tradition of universal suffrage are France and Switzerland (from 1848).
Electoral systems and voting systems found throughout the world are closely related to party systems in the country considered. Voting systems is the mechanism by which a group selects representatives who are delegated the authority to represent their constituents and make decisions on behalf of and for the latter.
In the democratic electoral process analysis meet two main types of voting systems: majoritarian electoral system and proportional representation electoral system.
